Knights of Columbus Origin & Mission
Grand Knight Mission & Vision
ORIGIN
The Knights of Columbus (K of C) is a global Catholic fraternal service order founded by Blessed Michael J. McGivney on March 29, 1882 under the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. Membership is limited to practicing Catholic men over the age of 18 and led by Patrick E. Kelly, the order's 14th Supreme Knight.
OUR MISSION
Together, we’re empowering Catholic men to live their faith at home, in their parish, at work and in their community.
Our council accomplishes our mission through a plethora of events that support our "Faith in Action Programs" at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church parish, local community, state, and national level.
A few examples of our "Faith in Action Programs" include:
- Pilgrim Icon Program – Sacred Heart of Jesus Icon 12/16/2025 – 12/22/2025
- Food for Families - Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church Food Pantry
- Global Wheelchair Mission

We ask our Parish Catholic men to accept the Lord’s invitation to become a member of the Knights of Columbus, to have an impact to our Parish, Community and Council.

- Participants: Youth 8th to 12th graders
- The essay should be approximately 500-750 words on this year topic “Out of the 267 popes that have led the Catholic Church, who are your three favorite popes and why?”
- Entrants will be judged on grammar, style, and how clearly, they present the theme – which should showcase creativity, imagination and overall development of the topic.

Mission – Introduce new activities & programs for our parish families while maintaining the rich heritage of our Council and Order.Vision and Goal – Invite the men of our Parish; over the age of 18, to join our council to help our Community, Parish and Council via the implementation of our Faith In Action programs, new initiatives of evangelization like Cor with the wisdom and tradition of our leadership.
