Following the liturgy, Bishop Parkes also offered a special Mother’s Day blessing for all mothers in attendance in recognition of their love, devotion, and faithful witness.

Bishop Gregory Parkes of St. Petersburg and Bishop Stephen Parkes of Savannah share a rare distinction: they are only the 11th pair of brother bishops in U.S. Catholic history.

At our 2026 Volunteer Luncheon, we had the privilege of celebrating the incredible volunteers who make Prince of Peace such a strong and welcoming community.
A luncheon to thank all of our generous CMA donors was held on January 14, 2026.
The CMA is the Catholic Ministry Appeal. We host this luncheon at the beginning of each year, after our final CMA numbers come in. We do this for our POP Parishioners who support our parish, and ultimately, our diocese, by giving to the CMA. Without your generosity, our diocese would not be able to minister to the millions of souls within our borders.
Prince of Peace Catholic Church collected and distributed over 400 gifts for the students of RCMA in Wimauma. It was our most successful Giving Tree event ever.

During the July 1917 apparition at Fatima, Our Lady said to Lucia,“I shall come to ask... that on the First Saturday of every month, Communions of reparation be made in atonement for the sins of the world.” 3 The messages Our Lady imparted to the three children were a recommendation for devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary as a way to save souls and bring peace to the world. It predicted an end to the Great War, but predicted a worse one if people did not cease offending God.

To celebrate the feast of St. Joseph, Prince of Peace will be hosting a special blessing of breads. This event traditionally called St. Joseph’s table, is a day celebration and commemoration of St. Joseph the spouse of Mary. While the tradition gets its origins from Italy it has been adopted world wide. Italians say the use of bread crumbs in food preparation this day is important as they represent saw dust in commemoration of St. Josephs’ work as a carpenter.
